A Midsummer Night's Dream - April 23 - April 25, 2026

 THE STORY 

ACT I  

Scene I: Athens, The Home of Theseus: Hermia refuses to marry Demetrius, whom her mother, Egeus, has chosen. She and Lysander plan to run away, while Helena reveals their plan to Demetrius.

 

Scene II: Athens: Six local craftsmen, known as "the rude mechanicals", began rehearsing a play for Theseus's wedding.

 

ACT II 

Scene I: A wood near Athens: King and Queen of the fairies, Oberon and Titania, argue over the possesion of a Changeling Child. Oberon sends Puck to use a magical flower that causes people to fall in love with the first thing they see. 

 

Scene II: Another part of the wood: Oberon enchants Titania while she sleeps, and Puck mistakenly casts the love spell on Lysander instead of Demetrius.

 

ACT III  

Scene I: The wood, Titania lying asleep: The mechanicals rehearse their play. Puck transforms Bottom with a donkey's head, and the enchanted Titania falls in love with him.

 

INTERMISSION

 

Scene II: Another part of the wood: Puck enchants Demetrius as well, causing both him and Lysander to pursue Helena, much to the confusion of Hermia.

 

ACT IV  

Scene I: Lysander, Demetrius, Hermia, and Helena lying asleep: Oberon lifts Titania's spell. The lovers are discovered and are invited to marry during Thesus's wedding celebration.

 

Scene II: The mechanicals reunite and prepare to perform their play at the Theseus's wedding

 

ACT V

Scene I: Athens, The Home of Theseus: The couples celebrate their marriages, and the mechanicals perform their play before the court.
