AuSable Community Theater

 Who's Who

  • Amanda Thiel head shot

    as Actress

Amanda first got involved in theatre when she was assigned to teach a drama class at a high school. Over the years, she learned more about the craft, and in 2012, she took the leap and acted in a series of one-act plays called “Couples” at Kirtland Community College. She said that she’s learned “that theater people are the most fun, uplifting and supportive people.” She added that she loves the “totally accepting culture” of the AAV community theatre. “People feel safe to take risks, to ask questions, which in turn produces a high-quality product that we can be proud of,” she said.

Amanda is “enjoying the challenge of trying to fit a lifetime of meaning into a few short sentences” in Post-Its. If not at rehearsal, she would be watching Oscar nominees with her husband and her dog. Her message of thanks goes to her husband, “for encouraging me to take this time for myself.”

  • Christopher Alderman head shot

    as Actor

Christopher joined the AAV community theatre after seeing a casting call advertisement in the front window of the Performing Arts Center. He said that theatre has given him insights into humility and “represents an opportunity to be a contributing part of a much larger picture”. He said that he is enjoying watching the people he works with, on stage and off, having fun.

If he wasn’t spending his nights at rehearsal, he would be cleaning up the basement of the AAV. A fun fact about Christopher is that he can twiddle his thumbs in opposite directions.

  • Dani Livermore head shot

Dani started theatre in her senior year of high school, where one of her roles was a strict robber woman in charge of three goofy guys, which she said “felt very natural.” This is her AAV debut. She said of the community theatre, “In just the short time I’ve been here, it already feels like family. I feel seen and supported by them in every way.” She added that over the years, theatre has shown her that she’s “more than just the person that everyone relies on” and that she really loves being in the spotlight. Her fun fact is that she has met actress Jessica Alba.

When not at rehearsal, Dani spends time at home with her kids, to whom she’d like to dedicate this show. She’d like to thank her husband for all of his support and help preparing for this show and her mom for always believing in her.
