The Little Mermaid - April 23 - April 25, 2026

Augusta Christian Schools

 END NOTES

A Note from the Director…

Directing this production of The Little Mermaid has been an especially meaningful  experience, as it marks the first time in recent years that we have double-cast a show. While this brought its own unique challenges, it also created incredible opportunities for collaboration and growth. I am so proud of how these students rose to the occasion—supporting and encouraging one another, learning from one another, and working together to strengthen their roles. Their teamwork, flexibility, and dedication truly embody the spirit of Augusta Christian Schools.

I would like to extend my deepest thanks to everyone who made this production possible. To all of the parents who jumped in and volunteered their time and talents—this production simply would not have happened without your generosity and support. To MaryAnne Steele and her team who organized our Concession Stand - thank you for all the time and energy you have put into making it so memorable. Special thanks to Ross Schexnayder of Lagniappe Theatre Company for his invaluable help with our costume rental, and to Corinna Hedgecock, who is always willing to lend a hand and whose creativity shone through in designing our Sebastian and Flounder costumes this year. Thank you, Emma Whaley, for designing our Cast Cards again this year. Your artwork is a wonderful keepsake for all who will receive it! Thank you to Sarah Hensley for her willingness to help in any capacity we needed—you truly made a difference. Thanks to ACS Alum Sophia Coleman, who jumped in headfirst to join our choreography team—her work on “Kiss the Girl” and her attention to detail made such an impact. (And thanks to Jim and Shirley Coleman for assisting our Assistant Choreographer). And a heartfelt thank you to Scott Kinney from It's All Staged in Atlanta for providing another beautiful set that helped bring our underwater world to life. To Lynn Wilkerson, one of our biggest supporters through the years, thank you for all you do (and this year it was all from a hospital bed)! And to our audience—your support means everything to these students, and we are so grateful to share this experience with you.

Finally, I would like to offer my deepest gratitude to two incredible members of our production team: our Producer, Chris Norris, and our Head Choreographer, Stephanie McCullough. This production would not be the same without these two. They bring energy, creativity, and joy into every rehearsal, and it is truly a privilege to work alongside them.
