After a shipwreck off the coast of Illyria, Viola, separated from her twin Sebastian, decides the best way to protect herself is to disguise herself as a boy and work for the Duke Orsino, with whom she falls hopelessly in love.
Unfortunately, Orsino is in love with the Countess Olivia, and sends Viola to court her for him, but Olivia falls for Viola instead. When Viola’s twin Sebastian arrives, a flood of mistaken identity ensues, resulting in chaotic romantic entanglements.
In the end, since this is a comedy, everyone gets married.
