The Outsiders - March 05

Fairland Hs

 End Notes

“Stay gold.”

At its heart, The Outsiders is a story about belonging, about being seen, understood, and valued in a world that often draws lines before we ever get a chance to speak. Though this story is set decades ago, its themes remain deeply relevant today: identity, loyalty, grief, class division, and the quiet courage it takes to care for one another.

This production was created not just as a performance, but as a process. Our students were asked to take risks, adapt, persevere, and support one another; onstage and off. Theatre is never just about the final curtain; it is about showing up, even when things are hard, and choosing to keep going together.

You will see moments of tenderness, chaos, loss, and hope; because those moments are real. They are the moments that shape us. My hope is that audiences leave this performance reminded that empathy matters, that stories can change us, and that kindness is never weakness.

To our cast and crew: thank you for trusting this story, for honoring these characters, and for giving your hearts fully to the work. You have grown not just as performers, but as people, and that is the greatest success of all.

Thank you for being here. Thank you for supporting young artists. And thank you for believing, as we do, that even in the hardest circumstances, there is something worth holding onto.

Stay gold.

— Mrs. Conness, Director
