 HISTORY/HERSTORY 

Divorced- Catherine of Aragon was Queen of England from June 1509 to May 1533 due to her marriage to King Henry VIII. She was his first wife and was married to him the longest. She was succeeded by Anne Boleyn in 1533. Inspired by Beyoncé and Shakira, she begins the competition in Six the Musical with her solo "No Way", where she expresses her distaste in Henry's wish to annul their marriage and sending her to nunnery despite her loyalty so he can pursue Anne Boleyn.

 

Beheaded- Anne Boleyn was Queen of England from 1533 to 1536 due to her marriage to King Henry VIII. She was his second wife and was succeeded by Jane Seymour. Inspired by Avril Lavigne and Lily Allen, she is the second contestant in Six the Musical with her solo "Don't Lose Ur Head", where she boasts about being pursued by Henry before recounting his infidelity which ultimately led to her beheading.

 

Died- Jane Seymour was Queen of England from 1536 to 1537 due to her marriage to King Henry VIII. She was his third wife and was succeeded by Anna of Cleves. Inspired by Adele and Sia, she is the third contestant in Six the Musical with her solo "Heart of Stone", where she explains that Henry's love for her was solely for her ability to produce a male heir, even though she stood by him despite his flaws.


Divorced- Anna of Cleves, also referred to as Anne of Cleves, was Queen of England from 6 January to 9 July 1540 due to her marriage to King Henry VIII. She was his fourth wife and was succeeded by Katherine Howard. Inspired by Rihanna and Nicki Minaj, she is the fourth contestant in Six the Musical with her solo "Get Down", where she complains about living alone in a palace in Richmond with a fortune after Henry rejected her for her appearance.

 

Beheaded- Katherine Howard was Queen of England from 1540 to 1541 due to her marriage to King Henry VIII. She was his fifth wife and was succeeded by Catherine Parr. Inspired by Ariana Grande and Britney Spears, she is the fifth contestant in Six the Musical with her solo "All You Wanna Do", where she recounts her romantic history and many suitors leading up to Henry, before realizing the emotional abuse she faced in each of her relationships.


Survived- Catherine Parr was Queen of England and Ireland from 1543 to 1547 due to her marriage to King Henry VIII. She was his sixth and final wife. Inspired by Alicia Keys and Emeli Sandé, she is the final contestant in Six the Musical with her solo "I Don't Need Your Love", where she details her arranged marriage with Henry and how she was forced to separate from her lover, before celebrating her accomplishments outside of her marriage.
