Note from the Director

Heroes. Who among us wouldn't love the chance to be a real hero? To change the world? To be seen and celebrated by all the world for our courage, our strength and our goodness? But don't most of us see ourselves as more of a "George Baily" type, than as a Superman? In tonight's production of "Puffs", we'll journey through seven years of wizarding school with our hero, Wayne, as he tries to be the hero, and fails. And then tries again. And really, what's more heroic than getting up everyday and facing all those voices (some in our own heads) telling us we can't do it, we're not good enough and we should just give up? What's more heroic than knowing that our courage and our strength and our goodness we'll probably never be recognized and celebrated, but yet we persist in being brave, and strong and good. Because we know it's what's right. And that-to me- is the bravest hero of all.

Thank you for being here tonight and all the days that lead up to this night.

For giving up your time, your sleep and your own needs for your children.

To them-and to me- you are a real hero.
