Student Director's Note
Welcome all to GPHS’ 3rd fall play, TRAP! Directing this production has been (so far) my highest honor in the world of theatre arts. I heavily thank Mr. Chiarella for handing me the keys to lead this production more than ever, and trusting me to lead rehearsals with my creative vision (with some guidance, of course). Which transitions us to our wonderfully talented cast! They’ve all been a delight to work with. We all could joke around and goof off while also getting the work done. They’ve demonstrated their unique skills and talents on full display, and I couldn’t be more proud of all of them. Same goes for the production team and running crew! They’ve been incredible at their jobs and have helped me bring my vision onto the stage, I couldn't be more grateful for their work. Thank you to everyone involved, and thank you for coming to see the show! Enjoy the show…

Producer's Note
Can I tell you a secret? It's tough for a theatre teacher to relinquish creative control over a production. Can I tell you another? It's all been worthwhile.
It has been an absolute joy to guide our students through this production — they’ve truly made it easy. This year, our department has been blessed with exceptional student leadership, and that has made all the difference. From directing and designing to developing the set, crafting the lighting and sound plots, creating advertisements, and of course, performing on stage — our students have done it all. My goal has always been to place students at the heart of the creative process, and this production is a shining example of that vision come to life.
I want to give a special shout-out to all of the seniors in this production. Nelly, Bella, Keith, Sully, Kiree, Jayden T., Donovan, Michael, and Miles — thank you for stepping into the spotlight and breathing life into this story. Jordyn, Aayush, Bryan, Andrea, Jayden P., Lily, and Madeleine — your contributions to this show, and to our department over the past three years, have been invaluable. I feel truly fortunate to work with such talented, dedicated individuals both in class and after school. I can’t wait to see where your creativity takes you next — whether on stage or behind the scenes.
I first discovered this show last year, and I’m thrilled that we’re able to bring it to you this fall. Its documentary-style format provides a dynamic storytelling experience and accommodates a large, flexible cast — giving us the opportunity to showcase the incredible range of talent in our program. The powerful subject matter, paired with this unique style of performance, promises an evening that is both thought-provoking and full of surprises.
Finally, thank you to all of you in our audience, parents, friends, family members, teachers, administration, and the entire Guilford Park High School community for your continued support. Your encouragement and enthusiasm make all of this possible — and we are so grateful.
