As the teacher for the Musical Theatre class here at Jeff High, my biggest desire is to see students empowered to make meaningful art in the form of stage productions. They take on roles that involve extensive on and off stage work, from acting and singing to stage management and design, from dog handler to kid wrangler and everything else you can think of. This year, the circle is ever widening with ensemble members beyond our class roster and even participants beyond the walls of our school. Throughout what has been a uniquely challenging process, these students have all stepped up in ways that never ceases to astound me. I figure the best thing I can do is set them loose and watch them shine, and that they have done. These students have embodied what Legally Blonde seeks to show us: that we are capable of stepping into spaces that perhaps we never imagined but certainly where we are needed. I cannot express enough how appreciative I am of all the kids, parents, volunteers, friends, and supporters for coming together to make the impossible happen once again. You've all had the Chip On Your Shoulder that made us driven to get this done. Thank you one and all!
