Notes from the Director: Brittany Thompson
Welcome to Into the Woods, a story that begins like a fairy tale, but quickly reminds us that life is far more complicated than “happily ever after.” This production has been an incredible journey for our students, one filled with discovery, growth, and a deep exploration of what it means to wish, to act, and to face the consequences of our choices.
From the very first rehearsal, this cast and crew embraced the heart of this show: connection. They have learned that every character’s story matters, that actions ripple outward, and that even in moments of uncertainty, we are never truly alone.
Watching these students take on such complex roles, with humor, vulnerability, and honesty, has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career.
I am endlessly proud of the dedication these students have shown. They have spent countless hours rehearsing, problem-solving, and supporting one another, both onstage and behind the scenes. Their commitment to storytelling and to each other is what makes this production truly special.
A heartfelt thank you to our talented Musical Director, Blake Gority, whose passion and musicianship have brought Stephen Sondheim’s beautiful and intricate score to life. Your work has elevated this production in ways that words cannot fully express.
To our families, faculty, and community, thank you for supporting the arts and these remarkable students. And to our cast and crew: remember that the woods are not just a place of mystery, but a place of growth. Carry what you’ve learned here with you beyond this stage.
Enjoy the journey.
