Prologue: A Battle On A Heath

     The play opens with a battle between Scottish forces and Norweans.

Act 1, Scene 1: A Heath

     Witches meet amidtst the battle

Act 1, Scene 2: A Camp near Forres

     King Duncan's camp where he hears reports of Macbeth and Banquo's bravery in battle.

Act 1, Scene 3: The Heath

     Macbeth and Banquo encounter the witches who prophesy Macbeth’s rise to power.

Act 1, Scene 4: Duncan's Palace at Forres

     Duncan announces that his son Malcolm will be his heir.

Act 1, Scene 5: Macbeth's Castle at Inverness

     Lady Macbeth reads Macbeth's letter about the witches and plots Duncan's murder.

Act 1, Scene 6: Outside Macbeth's Castle

     Duncan and his entourage arrive at Inverness.

Act 1, Scene 7: Macbeth's Castle

     Macbeth debates with himself and Lady Macbeth about killing Duncan.

Act 2, Scene 1: Macbeth's Castle

     Macbeth compares the choices before him to a dagger leading him to Duncan’s chamber.
Act 2, Scene 2: Macbeth's Castle

     Macbeth murders Duncan; Lady Macbeth orchestrates the aftermath.

Act 2, Scene 3: Macbeth's Castle

     Duncan’s murder is discovered.

Act 2, Scene 4: Outside Macbeth's Castle

     Ross and an old man discuss strange events following Duncan's death.

Act 3, Scene 1: Forres, the Palace

     Macbeth contemplates Banquo’s threat to his throne.

Act 3, Scene 2: The Palace

     Macbeth and Lady Macbeth discuss their growing anxiety.

Act 3, Scene 3: A Park near the Palace

     Banquo is murdered by Macbeth’s hired assassins.

Act 3, Scene 4: The Banquet Hall at the Palace

     Macbeth sees Banquo’s ghost at a feast, causing a scene.

Act 3, Scene 5: A Heath

     Hecate plans to deceive Macbeth further.

Act 3, Scene 6: Forres, the Palace

     Lennox and another lord discuss the political unrest.

     Lady Macduff and her son are murdered.

Act 5, Scene 1: Dunsinane, Macbeth's Castle

     Lady Macbeth’s guilt manifests as sleepwalking.

Act 5, Scene 2: The Country near Dunsinane

     Scottish forces prepare to attack Macbeth.

Act 5, Scene 3: Dunsinane, Macbeth's Castle

     Macbeth is overconfident despite the approaching army.

Act 5, Scene 4: The Country near Dunsinane

     Malcolm orders soldiers to camouflage with branches.

Act 5, Scene 5: Dunsinane, within the Castle

     Lady Macbeth dies; Macbeth learns Birnam Wood is approaching.

Act 5, Scene 6: Dunsinane, before the Castle

     Malcolm's forces prepare for battle.

Act 5, Scene 7: The Battlefield

     Macbeth fights desperately.

Act 5, Scene 8: The Battlefield

     Macduff kills Macbeth and hails Malcolm as king.
