Director's Note

Our musical, The Addams Family, has been driven by our talented students from the beginning of the process. This show fits us in every way from casting, to sense of humor, to the execution of our vision. As I’ve always said, putting on this production is a total team effort. From our production leadership of Sydney Walker, Annie Gavin, and myself, to our wonderfully supportive administration and staff; Glenn Plummer, Caleb Lewis, Taylor Hotek and Katie Melloy, to our dedicated adult volunteers Tim & Shane Schemmel, Paul Pursley, Alisa Pursley, Mike Gavin, Mark & Donna Santillan, and PISA (Parents in Support of the Arts)...they all have contributed to getting us to opening night. However, the most credit for this production goes to the kids. The students in this cast and crew are the reason we are all here and they are the reason for the success in this show.

The students were enthusiastic before The Addams Family was even announced as our spring musical. They were ready for whatever musical we would present. However, they have taken ownership of this particular show in a way that I have never seen from high school students. Much of the staging and ideas for the show came directly from student leadership, passion, and creativity, as well as many of the props and other comedic elements.

I would also like to mention our Regina and extended community. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support and coming to watch our production. In honor of this, we invite you to see yourselves not just as the audience, but part of our extended family. Think of yourselves as our “ancestors.” Whether you are snapping your fingers to the iconic theme song, laughing at our silly jokes, or humming along during the performance, we hope you enjoy this story that highlights the importance of family bonds and reminds us that what truly matters is how we support and love one another, quirks and all.

So now, sit back and be ghoulishly entertained by our enchanting performance and welcome to our crazy, kooky (and sometimes a little creepy) family!
