Disney's The Little Mermaid - May 15 - May 17, 2026

Wilton High School

 Director's Note

Welcome!

Whether you are a returning audience member or seeing a performance at Wilton High School for the first time, what you are about to see is the culmination of months of hard work by over a hundred individuals.

The rehearsal process is a delicate balance of multitasking to ensure the performance elements are prepared thoroughly to give the performers and crew the best opportunity to perform confidently. This is true of any show. What is special about the Disney catalogue is the expectation of the inextricable “magic” of Disney. This magic can come in many forms. It comes from something beautiful that takes our breath away. It comes from a part of a song that moves us in a way we don’t expect even though we know the song by heart. It comes from an element of surprise that brings us a childlike joy. Over a hundred individuals have worked to hope you have one or more of those experiences today.

Creating this show has been an exceptional privilege and I am grateful for the remarkable contributions of everyone involved. I thank this extraordinary cast and crew for putting your trust in me to lead you to today. Thank you Jack, Jorie and Will for always bringing your artistry, ingenuity and collaboration to the process. Thank you Kara for giving us your leadership and talent as Assistant Choreographer while Jorie had to be away on tour. Thank you to all of our designers and volunteers to those designers who have worked tirelessly to add their own magic! Thank you to Kevin and Angelica for joining us on this flying ride! Thank you to Malcolm, Troy and the fantastic orchestra. Thank you to the administration and staff for your constant support of the theatre program. And thank you to the many parent volunteers that have given so much of themselves to support these students and this production.

Ultimately, I humbly thank you for being here. Your attendance truly makes these performances possible and I hope you enjoy the magic that we have created. For a brief time, I welcome you to being part of our world!

With gratitude,

Kathryn Luckstone
