Welcome to Arendelle!
I vividly remember going to the movie theater Thanksgiving of 2013 to see Disney’s brand-new film Frozen. The theater was filled but I don’t think any of us could have known the lasting legacy the movie would create. Will we ever forget the first time we heard Idina sing “Let It Go”? Or the moment the true villain was finally revealed? Frozen quickly became one of the highest-grossing films of all time. It has lead to a sequel, a Broadway adaptation, theme park attractions and more. Frozen made history by breaking tradition in several ways; first being with its remarkable writer/director Jennifer Lee as the first female Director of a Disney animated film, second in its take on love. It takes us on a journey of self-acceptance, personal growth and inner healing. We learn that true love is found within ourselves, our family and our friends. The ultimate act of true love is standing by our loved ones even when it is difficult or scary or dangerous.
I am humbled by the amazing talent that brought this show to life. The cast, crew and production team are among the best I’ve ever worked with. To the cast: I'm so impressed by the talents, positive energy, professionalism and work ethic you have shown each day of this process. To the generous parents creating our costumes, sets, props and more: I thank you all for your time and talents that went into this production. This certainly would not be possible without you. To my dream team: Kim, Sarah, Casey, Alicia and Alexi, I would want you ladies on my team every day of the week! Thank you!
Lastly, to all of you here in the audience we thank you for being here and supporting local community theaters like Young Actors' Theatre and we hope you will be back to see future productions.
Thank you and enjoy the show!
