Costumes
The approach to costumes this year has been very different from how I usually start them. This musical has been my favorite since I was eight years old (questionable parenting decision aside) and the images from the 1978 movie have been imprinted on my mind ever since. So many of my costumes take inspiration, or even direct plagiarism, from those images. John Travolta in the hot pink shirt at the dance, Stockard Channing with her turned up collars, and Didi Conn with Frenchy's iconic hair. I need to give a shoutout to Laura Grindrod (P'09, 10, 13), as I have recycled many of her pieces from the first time ICS did Grase in 2010. And as always, I owe everything to my mom who taught me how to sew as a child and costumed me throughout all my shows at ICS.
