Ahmad Maaty (Director) has taught and performed throughout the United States and internationally in Doha, Qatar at the Asia Cup Games. Ahmad has had the opportunity to work with companies such as The Bats Acting Company and Les Shakespeare in NYC, and locally with Silk Road Dance Company, The Hub Theater, Workhouse Arts Center, Monumental Theater Company, Constellation Theater Company, Acting For Young People, Arlington and Fairfax County Public Schools, Prince William Little Theatre, Fauquier Community Theatre, The Academy of Russian Ballet, and the Northern Virginia Youth Ballet. In addition to this he had the privilege of being a finalist at the Actors Studio (NYC) from 2012-2013, and has trained with various studios, institutions, and companies including with the extraordinary faculty at the Ailey School, and locally with Synetic Theater. He is a proud member of George Mason University’s School of Theater faculty. Ahmad’s work has been recognized by the Helen Hayes, Youth American Grand Prix, the Brandon Victor Dixon Awards, The Jimmys, and the Cappies. His students have gone on to study with highly competitive arts programs across the country and abroad, and his work has been performed all along the East Coast on stages including the National Theatre and the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. Ahmad was a finalist at the Actors Studio (NYC). He was named 2019’s Best Actor in a Community Theater Production and 2018's Best Choreographer in a Small Professional Theater by BroadwayWorld and was a Helen Hayes Nominee for best choreography for his work in both Pippin (2018) and Spring Awakening (2023) with Monumental Theatre. Olivia Tate (Assistant Director) teaches IB Anthropology and Honors Government at Marshall High School. She previously helped direct "Legally Blonde", "The Laramie Project", "Xanadu", "Blue Stockings" among others for Statesmen Theatre. Beyond Statesmen Theatre, Ms. Tate has been coaching Marshall Girls Basketball for the past 6 years at both the JV and Freshman levels. She hopes everyone enjoys our totally soaked performance!
