MISSION: May River Theatre is a nonprofit organization committed to engaging the Bluffton community through a breadth of quality theatrical performances that facilitate growth in both the production and understanding of the entire theatrical experience.

As we move through the 2025 Season at May River Theatre many exciting things are happening. Our opening main season show, The Full Monty, had record attendance and welcomed some very special new-to-MRT cast members. Another milestone for us is this very show! Producing the U.S. Premiere of Tim Firth's Sheila's Island has been an amazing journey and only possible through board member Liz McGinnes and her international connections.

As you sit here tonight we are already surging forward with casting our summer show, Spring Awakening, and planning with community members for our August One Act Festival. This Festival evolves out of our previous Series of One Acts and will look to welcome theatre enthusiasts from throughout the Southeast. All of this is possible thanks to our volunteers and patrons. It is these very people that empower us to continue to look for new opportunities to enrich the Bluffton-Live Theatre Community! 

Through our membership in the Bluffton Chamber and the Old Town Bluffton Merchants Society we strive to build relationships with local businesses while expanding connections within the community. Special thank you to Heyward House for hosting our Sheila's Island Red Carpet Event!

In 2025 MRT expanded its season and its involvement with the community.

With this in mind we are looking to increase our Board of Directors.
